2008 mega cab dually tire questions
Hey guys i just joined DTR last night and have a few questions. i just bought a 2008 mega cab dually(my first dually) and have a few plans for it and was just looking for some ideas. I need new tires and want to go as big as i can with a 2" or 3" leveling kit. was wondering how big i could go and if i would need a spacer in the back, going ot be putting 17" rockstar rims or something of that nature. and any other ideas would be great thanks anything will help me out.
thats an awsome truck! have a couple questions for you, do the front tires rub at all and if they do do you think a two in leveling kit would help? what kind of spacers did you get and where from and are those the stock rims?thanks for the pictures thats a sweet truck
Thanks...
The fronts rubbed the inner fender slightly in some turns, but trimming the lower rear portion cleared that up. The rear inners required the corners that stick out being trimmed. Those are the stock wheels. It's hard to say about the leveling kit. The single wheel guys get away with it. I can't decide if I want a leveling kit or not as my trailers squat the truck pretty good. I got the spacers off eBay. They have been good so far.

sounds good one other thing those cooper stt tires your running are they load rating e or d and on your stock rims did u just take the rim inserts out and paint the rim or what did u do there
They are d but the actual load rating is around 2500lbs each if I remember right. You won't find an e in a 37.
I just pulled off the simulators and put some gloss black on the stock wheels.
EDIT: The tires are rated at 3525 lbs each. Goodyear makes a 37 that is a d rated at over 4000 per tire.

I have about 10k on the back tires, and about 1k on the front tires as they were just replaced after a guy pulled out in front of me. Comparing the tires the rears have about 25% wear. They should easily make it to 30k without being down to the last little bit. I run 50psi up front and 30 in the rears.
