Mega Cab Dually Tire Selection
Mega Cab Dually Tire Selection
Help me with my selection. I live in Helena, MT and my truck is used for pulling my fifth wheel and I like to take the truck when we travel as a family. This means going to the ski hill in the winter or just traveling around the state which is always over 200 mile round trip so lots of hwy miles. Now I do use the truck for around town some. The factory tires have about 38,000 miles and still have tread left but really stick in the snow. So I need a good hwy tire for pulling but want something better for snow. Looking at Goodyear wrangler silent armor. What about Nitto tires? or any others?
Thanks

I have two extra steel wheels...I may purchase 4 aluminum wheels and have a full set for in the summer.
Then I would look at the Durvais 500 as my ribbed summer tires and the generals as the winter dually's.
I ran a couple of sets of M55's on other trucks. They gave me well over 120K miles on each set. However, they were such a hard compound that they were a bit too slick on ice. Siping would have solved that...nobody in my area does this.
Just replaced my Toyo Open Country AT (235/85/17) with a set of Yokohama Geolander ATS (265/70/17) on my 06 dually. Only got 30K miles out of the toyos. Read a lot of good reviews on the yokohamas so thought I would give them a try. The yokohamas have a little more aggressive tread and 3 ply sidewalls.
