Thumbs up Xzillaraider XZT is Awesome!

After over a year of bad fuel mileage then compounded by adding H2 315's, I decided to unbolt my wallet and get the XZT box. I installed it last week and my truck feels like it did when I had the stock 265's on it - great accelleration, more power, smoother sounding engine, and mileage improved about 2 mpg. I no longer have to mash the skinny pedal at every stop sign to take off. Overhead computer works fine, no check engine lights, etc. This thing should pay itself off in about 4 months.

question

I have been considering a XZT box. But, I am concerned about not having any other modifications. Do I need all of the mods to use the box? Air intake, guages? What do you have running in your truck?

im gonna make a suggestion for ya,,and it wont cost you anything besides about an hour of your time...do the tone ring mod, trust me...drill out the dowel hole and adjust it to the bolts.....this with the xzt box is a killer set-up.as much as i was impressed with this low budget hop-up,this weekend i towed with it,and it really shines in that department...and i have no other mods at all, stock intake and muffler and cat still in place.....i have 3.73`s and run 12.50-35`s on mine, and it pulls heads stronger than it did stock with the 245`s.......................bama

I wouldn't worry too much about the egt's with only the xzt box. I actually saw a decrease in egt's when I installed the xzt. Once again this all seen while towing extremely heavy all day every day for the last 5 MONTHS And yes you are reading correctly with 50000 miles currently on the clock!! TOWING!!

Bama, You will have to explain to me what the tone ring is and what does the mod do for the truck? Thanks!

Did you install this yourself? What kind of differences have you noted with the truck? more power, gas mileage? Sound any different?

Smile I Agree, ZXT best value for the Buck

I bought my box from Larry here and installed it in 20 miniuts. Hardest part of install is getting the wire through the firewall rubber gromet (it isnt really that hard). After installing it is very apparent what it does. Noticable more in the midrange area but a little on the lower end. In my case inproved highway empty millage by 1-2 MPG with normal driving. Ocasionally have a heavier foot and it decreases millage appropriatly. Otherwise easy install and noticable differece in acceleration and millage.

Go For it, you will like it.

Don

PS
I won one of the first Quad air intakes from this site and that is the only other mod I have done and I did not see any noticable millage increase from it. Hope to install an EGT gague soon to see what it does.
