Question Code Problem

Just installed my Xzillaraider XZT towing box in my 2005 3500 CTD. It ran great for the test run...then being a bone head...disconnected the box at the box and installed the pig tail. It ran rough while nothing plugged in to it...then ran fine with the box or pigtail plugged in. Anyway, my malfunction indicator light came on.

What do I do to clear it...I really don't want to go to the dealer.

Thanks for any help.

Check for codes...cycle the key on/off three times with out starting the engine as I recall. You are looking of a PXXX code of some sort.

Next I would unplug the XZT wiring harness (just leave it in place) from the engine and plug back in the factory plugs to see if your XZT wiring harness is the culprit.

Other than that, call Quad and have them help you trouble shoot it.

If you are just wanting to clear the light, usually if you dont have a code reader that will clear it, you can unhook the battery for a little while and that usually clears the code. You might try autozone to clear it, they use to for free, I know now the ones around here wont do it anymore because they said someone sued the company over it.

I think I worded it wrong. While the Pick-up was at idle, I disconnected the box and put the pigtail on. During that time it was disconnected it ran rough until one of the 2 were plugged in. I checked for codes and got P0193. Anybody know what that code is?

Unplugging them with the truck running is a no-no!

The good news is that it won't hurt anything. IF you just keep everything plugged in the code will go away after a day or two and some keystarts.

0193 is

Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input

More than likely when the ECM lost the signal it ramped pressure up pretty darn hard.

Enjoy it and have fun!
