Xmonitor install
... One more question on an X-monitor install:
Where did you put the control box that goes under the dash, and how did you attach it? I was thinking about just sticking it on the firewall with velcro and wasn't sure if there was a better idea. The instructions don't say.

Hopefully the last how'd YOU do it question until I actually start this next Saturday.
Where did you take a switched 12V power source?
Tap a fuse? (which one)
Grab a line from under the dash? (which one)
thanx.

tranny temp is by "choice c - some other way"
The Xmonitor taps the existing temp sensor and uses that voltage to determine a temp and provide the digital display. Beats me why DC just provides the idiot light.

It's easy to do, just unscrew the screw from the trashbag hook and pull the cover off and you will see the wire to tap.
Hope this makes sense I'm in a hurry.
I opted for the sending remote sending unit as I ordered a Hy-Tech Double Deep Transmission pan which is already tapped. The only problems with this route is the extra $50 cost plus the fact the remote sending unit is 14" NPT and the pan is tapped for 1/8" NPT. I ended up ordering the correct unit from ISSPRO as BD doesn't even stck them. If I had it to do over I'd still use the
HY-Tech pan but opt for the standard temp unit that uses the DC sending unit. Save the hassle of finding the right size unit plus save $50 to boot.
Can't remember where I tapped in for 12v but am thinking it was the cigarette lighter.
