Would using control arms from a 6" on a 4" kit be ok?
Would using control arms from a 6" on a 4" kit be ok?
I know I know run Thuren, Kore, Carli or Lorenz system. I was going to get a complete custom 4" setup from don a few months back till a puppy of mine came down with parvo and his hospital stay zaped my truck upgrade fund.
Now I need to get new tires really soon and dont want to have to get tires twice so I want to cheaply get my truck up 4" and replace the springs and shocks with dons stuff at a later date since I already have some parts.
I already have a track bar relocation bracket and pitman arm for a 4" kit from when I was going to have done build me a set up plus I have control arms from a 6" tuff country kit that I got over a year ago.
Don told me he thought the arms should work, im just nervious never hearing else run a similar setup so I wanted to get more opinions and see if I can get a "will work" or "your death wish". If they do work then i wouldnt need much other parts to finish the lift ( probably get the 4.5" tuffcountry pucks till i got dons springs ) plus being a little longer I would have more room to run less backspacing and get rims I like.
The control arms measure approx 18 5/8 for the upper arm and 20 1/16 for the lower arm.

well its an 06 and that part of the bumper is mostly plastic, I have no problems trimming that with my cutoff wheel. I want to make sure that I wont have a problem setting castor or any steering or track bar hitting.

If you are thinking of dropping money on a swaybar set up. Why don't you order adj. control arms from Thuren? Cost just as much as the swaybar setup if not cheaper. Then you will not have a problem and one more step closer on your build up.
If you want to know the price (I ordred them a couple of weeks ago) PM me.

What I would do is go buy some used tires at a local tire shop for super cheap. I went and got some on my backup truck today and they had a set of 305 BFG Mud Terrains for 17" wheels with 60% tread for $120 mounted and balanced... If I had 17's I woulda bought them but I am pimpin' 16's HAHA

Buy the correct length arms
, what about those splined torsen bar swaybar setups that kore and don have ( atleast on the picture of his truck ). Dont know if they change the positioning any.
