Would a tip........

Hey guys, i have the magnaflow 5" system w/o the tip installed and im wondering if i was to put a tip on it, would it affect the sound. Right now it has that raspy exhaust leak sound comin from the tailpipe when she's warming up and truthfully its sounds bad. When she's at running temp it sounds fine, i dont know what the deal is. Anyway, im wondering if a tip would change the sound or take that raspy sound away. What do you think?

I put a 6" tip on mine and it helped the sound. It adds a little bass and it is also alot louder.Placement is important, if it doesnt stick out enough you can get a drone sound or vibration at certain rpm's. I moved mine around untill I got the sound I liked then tacked it down.

I can't guarantee you that the tip will change your truck's note alot as it's a 325/600 truck w/3 injection events. My 305/555 truck doesn't sound too bad with the Magnaflow #15989 System.
Here's a few pics of the 6"x15" Flo-Pro Stainless Steel tip I installed on mine.
Kelley15 is right.....tip placement is important in eliminating or creating drone.

I have a 4" straight piped system on my 03 with a 4" to 6" tip and it does change the exhaust tone. As far as my truck, it most certainly deepened the exhaust coming from the tail pipe. I'm sure it will do the same for your 5" system if you install a 6" tip. Like the others, position of the tip does play a factor
