I`m a window tinter by trade. You can match the rear. 3M doesn`t offer a film that matches the rear factory tinted glass. Cure out time isn`t going to change the color of the film much. I use Sun-Gard brand film, and they have a film the matches the rears perfectly, as well as several other film companies.

The reason for the mis-match is the front doors are tinted too, only its a 70% greenish color added to the glass. When you install a dyed black film over that glass, it amplifies the greenish color of the glass itself. Dodge and Nissan glass seem to be the worst for doing this.

 

So will tinting the rear windows help them to match, or will it make no difference? (will the 3m tint add green to the rears??)

I think that's the reason tinting the front windows is illegal in some places, I think it is here in BC (although you see it everywhere), the cops can't see in either.

 

I'm no expert but I had some windows tinted about 5 years ago and was told two things at the time

1. 3M tint is no good. The 3M name holds a lot of weight, but not with window tint.

2. I remember being offered different "shades" of tint. Don't remember all the choices but I think there was gray, brown, green and maybe one or two others. By the way it was a Nissan and it seems to match the back windows perfectly...
