you do not need the resistor. the cheapest thing you can do since you already have the boost elbow installed is to make the solenoid into a plug. you can do this in about 15 minutes. cut the solenoid into about 3/4 inch above the surface that mates to the turbo, remove the o rings first to keep from damaging. next there is some peaces in the center tube, shake them out and use a 1/8 inch npt to tap the center hole and screw a 1/8 pipe plug into it. reinstall the o rings and it is ready. if you had did this to start with you would not need the boost elbow. this opens up the waste gate to 32 psi. i neaten mine up by cutting the square shoulders deeper for wrench and remove some more of the outer steel if you need pix pm me your email
