Where is the boost?

I have posted on here numerous times about not being able to make more than 38psi of boost. I had an injector problem so I was hoping that it may have been part of the problem but it wasn't. New (80hp) II DragonFlow Stainless injectors went in yesterday. It fixed slow startup, white smoke, excess black smoke and a slightly noisy idle. Truck runs great now but boost is actually even less than before. How can my truck with all the mods I have only make 38psi boost? I see that I am not alone, a few others are having similar problems but no one seems to have an answer. I have no boost leaks and my turbo was just completely overhauled a few months ago. There are also no leaks at the exhaust manifold or flange, I replaced all gaskets when installing the turbo. I have checked drive pressure and it tracks boost within 5 psi. What am I missing? Thanks, Tom J

Do you have boost fooling of some kind? Where are you taking the boost reading from? Ever get an over boost code?

Also do you control the X2 with the commmander? I would check your defuel setting on the commander.

What are you reading your boost with? If you are using a electronic gauge off the map senser it will only read to about 41 psi. Do you have a boost elbo
on your turbo to over ride the waste gate? Just something to look at.

I have a mechanical and digital gauge and they are both spot on. I took the Quad off for now because I am pretty sure pressure took out my injectors. Everything is set to kill on the Smarty and I can't even make enough boost to throw an overboost code with no boost fooler installed. Truck is fast and runs great but where is the boost?

I will play with the boost elbow some more. In the past I have just pinched off the pressure hose to the wastegate. Thanks, Tom J.

Something does seem off, but higher boost doesn't always equal more power. Your Smarty settings are such that boost will be lower than it could be, though. Advanced timing = lower boost all other factors equal. Try the Smarty on an even number with default settings (all - rail pressure, timing, & torque mgmt.) and see if your boost goes up. I would want to dyno that also for reference. Some trucks run better with timing, some run better without.

Pressure could have been a problem but many 06' trucks have had issues with injectors on stock motors. Don't see anything in your signature but the Glacier fuel boss system. Did you get the 2micron filter setup also? Put the Quad back on and only use the pressure when needed. Make sure you have the boost fooling pressure only tune loaded.

I bought the MK-2 filter kit with my Fuel boss system 2 years ago but I just got around to installing it. So I now have 2 mic filtration. Could be why the injectors went. I am still alittle leary of the Quad box though. All the levels seem to be the same, actually 3 is less power. My commander only does 3 levels, I need to upload the new firmware but I really don't need more levels, just one that is safe. Thanks, Tom J.

Does the commander only read so much boost, then stop? Maybe try a mechanical gauge.
