Are you serious? After everything that you have been through with your motor and all of the advice that has been given to you about ditching the Edge because it runs hot. Do yourself a favor, sell it and get the one programmer that most everyone else runs and has been proven to run cooler. I won't say it because I don't want to sound like a cheerleader but do some research. I'm sure you can figure it out.

so i shouldnt even put the edge on and use it for extra gauges and turbo timer? even on setting 0 its going to melt pistons?just for a side note i dont race or drag any1.i melted a piston before because i passed someone on highway. even when i tow my 12000lb camper i only use setting #2 at the most. so with this all said and done i shouldnt try it?

i know edge runs hot but how much hotter on a perfectly running vehicle?instead f seeing 590 egt on highway will i see 690 egt now lol if so how can i melt piston at that temp?

I agree. Just make sure you bring the engine up to temp easy, then drive it like you stole it once the T-stat opens.

Just keep an eye on that EGT, sally. I have personal experience on how hot an Edge can run. It's a good box, but there are better ones.

On a side note, my Edge EGT gauge was always off. I would suggest getting a good analog mechinical gauge with a high end probe.

I wouldnt be scared with it...Any chip or programmer can run hot just depends on how you push it. If you see high temps back out of it and all problems avoided.

Now to waste money and get something else just because it runs hot is stupid. Like said earlier just take it easy until the T-stat opens and your fine not every level of the EDGE puts down 100hp so just use the shift on the fly to your advantage and start out low till you find what you like.

jiggerman78, Is right any programer or chip will do it! Its just how hard you push it and yes I've tried some of the other programers and they all did the same on heat on my truck.
My anolog gauges and digital gauges on the Edge are pretty close with in 15 -20* I'm not preaching either on which one is the best. I have what works well for me and for the combo I have.
