Or do a straight pipe side exit. I have a muffler (mbrp) but mine exits in front of the rear wheel. Quite a bit louder than my previous mbrp setup where it was full length. (exits like stock). I've been told that a straight pipe side exit is obnoxiously loud.

i've got a 4" straight pipe that exits out the side right in front of the rear wheel. with the windows up, it's not too bad except for a bad resonance right at 2000rpm, but with the windows down, especially the passenger window, it's pretty freakin loud...I feel sorry for ppl driving next to me with their windows down. sounds great though.

How are you guys with the side pipe gettin it "mounted". All of the shops I have been to say they need to bend the pipe but cant bend 4". I was goin to go 4" with a 5" tip. Any tips? Does anybody make a kit that more or less welds/bolts on?

Wap
go to a shop/parts store that deals with or sells exhaust to big trucks, ie. international, freightliner, etc. they would have 4 or 5 inch pipes pre-bent. You'll just have to look for the type of pipe and bend you want...

Get some POR-15, This stuff rocks...I did almost all my undercarrage of my offroad truck with it. It bonds to the rust, making rust the primer. This stuff doesnt chip, fade and it barly scratches.

The kit I bought came with everything bent already.
As for the wheel being black...yeah it does. But that's a sacrifice I am more than willing to put up with.

Wow that is kinda rusty. You live by the salt?
Still wondering if anyone has heard both dual 4" and single 5". And what you thought sounded better.

I know 2 guys that have identical trucks but one is running the 4" MBRP system with 4" duals out the back with 5" tips on each tail pipe and the other truck is running 5" from turbo to tail with the Flo Pro muffler. IMO even though both trucks are running mufflers, the 5" sounds way better
I'd say if you want loud, then go with the 5"
