What would be needed.....?

Im not sure how else to ask for my goal of power other than quarter mile times really. What would i need on an 04' to run a mid 14-high 14 at sea level? what kind of mods take you beyond that? i am looking to have a fast truck to show off to some of those lil rice burners, but i daily drive this thing and i dont want it to blow up. what is a safe limit to go with mods before my engine or transmission is in the 'danger" zone? my truck has AFE intake, custom straight piped exhuast, and i am looking to get edge juice with attitude soon. what is left after that to do? im a newbie when it comes to diesel performance

Fill out ur signature so we know more info on your truck. if you ask me, start off with the most common problems that these trucks have. Here is what i would do i started all over again, besides, im not done mine yet but i bet it will run high 14's. Like i said, if i was to start at one again, he is how i would do it.

1. Fuel system (walbro or a fass)
2. Trasmission (clutch or Valve body, torque converter, clutch packs, etc)
3. Cold air intake and Exhaust
4. Gauges (Fuel, pyro, boost, transmission temp, etc.)
5. Boxes (like a tst and an edge ez)
6. Turbo (something that will push a bit more air)

Like i said, if i was to redo my truck, thats where i would start. just some thoughts.

The most common way to make power on these trucks is with two chips stacked. You mentioned that you were interested in the Edge Juice, so you can stack that with the Edge EZ. Check the classifieds on here, I think there is an Edge Juice and an EZ for sale by other members. If you have an auto, than you should look into adding the torque converter and valve body to the trans, for a manual you should look into a clutch such as a South Bend. You should add a fuel system also from either FASS or Glacier Diesel.

it is auto tranny. whats an appromiate cost for the torque converter and valve body with install. sounds expensive becuase you would have to drop the trans.

dude if you want high 14's just get a downloader. in the "mile high city" 5300ft above sea level, i ran a 15.013 in 4x4 with a 1300 RPM launch @ 91.84mph. At sea level 14's are easily achievable. i did it without gauges and everything on the 90hp setting.
