What Smarty program

Hey guys,
I have read so much about different Smarty programs and want to upgrade mine but I am uncertain which way to go. I'm just running a standard (I think)4.06d 2.08a. So what will I gain by switching to TNT or POD?
Thanks,
Bulldog

You will gain alot going to the TNT. Great performance and options for stacking. Such as with the mp-8. I would run the TNT if i where you.

Since you have an 06 like i do, do not use the sw available on MADS website right now....if you do, you wont be able to go backward to your curret version, the beta's,.....I pretty much have every version of smarty released for the S06...so if you need any of them (except Betas as Bob asked that we not share them), pm me and i'll share....

In regards to TnT...that's theoretically the ultimate smarty software....but IMHO, you have to have some serious mods to use it....injectors, turbo(s), fuel pump, cp3 mods, built trans...full kit....e.g like Dukclan above.....if you dont (like me)...your better off with the betas...as far as ultimate performance / aggressiveness,....

Hey guys,
Thanks for the info!
jgiachino I'm surprised that you say all that is needed to run the TNT programs. I know some guys run it with just and intake and exhaust. I guess it depends on what level you'll be using. I have a small silver 62 which I will be sending back to II to get it upgraded to a 64. I have a fass 150 that I will be installing if I ever shut the truck off long enough. I already took care of the trans. So I guess I'm on my way. How much difference will I see going from my current program to the TNT. How fast will a stock fuel system run out of fuel. Also how well will my 62 cool or should I just send the turbo to have it upgraded to a 64? How well will the 64 keep things cool?
Thanks,
Topper

I somewhat agree on the Betas until several mods have been done. I have tried all of the software except for the POD and will most likely not go to POD until I have CP3 mod and injector upgrade. When I ran the Revo and TNT the truck ran very well but I could not get the smoke control I have running the Beta 4.4. From a dead stop Revo and TNT would have smoke when I drive away at a normal pace. The Beta 4.4 will smoke if I get on it hard from a stop, but my normal driving has WAY LESS Smoke and just feels great! Once you go to the POD you can not go back to the Beta's and for now that is what I am choosing to run. Good MPG, Smoke control and drives Great!

Topper, I have had several people ask for the Beta 4.4 and like others have said Bob asked not to share it and that is what I have done. True to my word with Bob. If I got the OK from Bob I would share it as it drives great with my Silver 62.. Why are you changing to 64? I love the Silver 62 and would think all you would gain is some additional LAG for a little more power up top. It will not help the driveability.

Topper,

It's not all mandatory, and tnt can be run on a nearly stock truck...it just wont work as well with less mods as the beta's do...the TnT requires a ton of mods to be used to it's full potential...i've run the tnt with a stock turbo (i dont have my 62 installed yet), and egt's are right at the max point (1500*)...your 62 should be more than reasonable....but your fuel wont be until you put on that fass....and then the next weak point will be the cp3 and injectors.....again, it's not all necessary for it to work, just to work better than the betas (IMHO).....send me a pm, i'll send you the previous tnt (1 version back from whats on the site)....you can try it, if you dont like it for what ever reason, you can go back to what you have or to the beta's if you can get them from bob w....no risk proposition....

How much difference will I see going from my current program to the TNT.
--TnT will be smoother, less bottom end, less aggressive at normal throttle, but much faster (if you dont run out of fuel)

How fast will a stock fuel system run out of fuel.
--Fast at higher levels

Also how well will my 62 cool or should I just send the turbo to have it upgraded to a 64? How well will the 64 keep things cool?
-- I'd try it before you do the 64 upgrade...especially sense tnt will take some bottom end away....the 62 should be reasonable, and if you want more, then upgrade to the 64

Curious, did the TnT have the agressiveness, throttle response, agro feeling of the beta's? Could you replicate anything near the beta's for fun / drivability??

Betas are good, but to run the TNT with mostly stock trucks, better do a tranny mod or two and hit the fuel system while your at it to get the potential of the TNT, otherwise why bother.....

I ran my truck on a dyno on Saturday and got 463 HP and 953 TQ. The run I posted in my signature was from March when I was running TNT. Then came Revo, and still later I upgraded to the POD. Now I am set at Revo POD TNT, stock torque management , moderate rail pressure, default timing, wastegate on. The difference between my March run and Saturday was -18 HP, +3 TQ. The HP curve is pretty much the same, but the torque curve show it coming on about 150 rpm sooner!

I have always loaded the latest software availble for my Smarty and have had various results. The tune I have now is by far the best! Right foot smoke control, yet very responsive even in stock TQMan.
