What programmer to get power/smoke?

Just looking for a few suggestions. I have a 2003, quad, short, CTD with an mbrp exhaust and open air box. The truck has a Banks Six Gun now which helps the power but no smoke. Just want to get more power with lots of smoke, but don't want to kill the stock tranny. Thanks.

anything with smoke will kill the tranny eventually just the fact of life unless someone can up up with something else.

I have your exact setup, buy the Smarty and only use levels 1-5. You WILL smoke your tranny if your not careful. You do have the speed loader dont you?

No, but you will see smoke if you get one. For the money(80-100.00) and trouble(drilling for the pyro) you might as well just get a programmer. I take it you dont have gauges yet?? You better get them soon if not.

Pass on the SL and get a BDDL or Smarty CR, I now prefer the Smarty.

I would get a BDDL or Smarty. I think the Smarty is a MUCH better option for someone who is concerned with warranty issues.

As long as I'm not ripping this thing from a dead stop, will the tranny be ok?

no,, the stock tranny is pretty much a POS. If your running power through it, it aint going to last,,, it is barely strong enough for the factory power.
