What kind of air intake and exhaust to get

I just got my 06 and would like to upgrade the intake and exhaust and am wondering which is the best to get. I would like for the exhaust to remain about as quiet as the stock. Corsa is supposed to be coming out with one for the 06. Also I have heard that the air raid drop in filter can cost you mileage. Thanks

I have the Silverline T409 stainless system and i am very impressed with it. Quality is excellent. It has a good tone, not too loud, not too quiet. At times i do think it is a bit quiet b/c i like em loud, but it has enough tone and volume to not really bother me. It is a bit louder than stock, but it isnt anything drastic. As far as intake, i just installed the AFE Stage II and i love it also. It makes the turbo sing and it is music to my ears. Now i mostly drive with the radio off just to listen to the turbo..lol. I am very happy with both of my choices and would recomend them to anyone. Good luck, Jason

I just installed the RokkTech Silent Muffler on my 05. It recommends leaving the kitty or having a LOUD aftermarket muffler in it's place if missing. It is a long muffler (4'). But it did weld right into place behind the kitty and just before the rear end. Still running stock tailpipe.

Sound is little more thoaty in low rpm from outside but notice no LOUD difference inside. Once revs get up there, sounds like stock but yet it is a straight flow design so egt's are down and boost went up a little. Very happy so far with it.

I just didn't want a loud pipe... yet.

Rather spend the $$ on other mods for now.

I went with an Aeroturbine 4040 and an AFE stage 2. Both sound great together.

223 rules,

Take a look at the MBRP MK96116 performance replacement muffler, it has welded hangers that re use the Dodge rubber mounts, includes the "S" pipe to attach correctly (no rigging and or angled mufflers etc) to the stock 4 inch pipes and is made out os 409 stainless like the rest of the system is from Dodge. Sounds great too.

As far as intakes the AFE Stage II is the BOMB, and the Pro Guard 7 version keeps the dirt out too!!

I have the mbrp 4 inch exhaust and proguard 7 intake with torque tube on mine. It just sounds great from the outside of the truck but I can barely tell the difference in the cab. I removed the silencer ring when I upgraded my intake and man the whistle was loud. I put it back in after a week. You can here the turbo whistle enough with the intake upgrade IMO. I am really happy with this setup.

I purchased the stage 2 about a week ago for $399. I put it on yesterday and with the silencer ring removed the turbo freakin screams. Very pleased !

Just got my 06 which has a 4" stainless exhaust from the factory. Just curios as to why you'd chop it all off and put on a new 4" stainless system?
I might just get a different muffler...
