What do I need?

Tomorrow we are going to get the motor out of the truck. And let it rebuilt or buy an new one.

Does anyone know what a new motor block cost?

In the future I want more power so if my engine is out of the truck it's now the good time to make everythink ready/stronger/better for the future.

In the future I want somewhere around 600/650 HP

What do I need for my engine and tranny? And where is it for sale?

I really need a torque converter.
And what else?

I've heard Valve Body but what is it and what does it really do?
And the same question about valve springs, when you talk about that you proberbly don't mean stock valve springs.

But what do I need more for tranny and engine?

Thanks,

Roel

The motor is now out of the truck and tomorrow they take him to the company that makes them. They first will give the price to get this motor fixed. And then we can diecide if we take an new one of fix this one.
So that why I need to know what an new motor cost.

We take the Banks Six Gun out of the truck and sell it. And then I will buy a Smarty

So what parts do I need, So it can handle 650hp and that I don't need to watch carefully that I put the smarty accidentally on an to high level.

The engine itself in stock form (stock long block) will handle 650hp no problem. Some of the supporting mods will be in the cp3 and valve springs and a little bigger stix, like 90hp variety. Other than that... the engine is going to be good. You'll get the rest of the power from smarty and turbo. If you end up rebuilding your old engine, put a nice cam into it too.

Tranny you'll have to put some money into and it will probably have to be more than just a TC/VB install. Think of rebuilding with new clutches and at least a billet input shaft/drum for 650hp.
Recommend calling Dave Goerend for advice.

Thanks.

I mailed to Dave and helped me a lot on the tranny. And give me a lot of information about how everythink works in the tranny.

The cp3 and stix can me done easy when I get twins.

What kind of cam and valve springs do advice? And what does that cost.

Just a question about an other cam. What is different on a nice cam? Because it allway's need to turn half as much as the crankshaft. Isn't it? So there's nothing different by the cam rpm? So what does it do?

Aftermarket cams hold the valves open longer for more flow and cooler egt's. Certain ones are built w/ a different metal for higher rpm applications.

Thanks,

If it keeps it open longer is there then more risk that the piston would hit the valve when it open TOO long.

And what does it cost?

Right you are about valves being open to long is bad, but consider that the cam manufacturer has considered this and you won't need to worry.
