what causes the shifter to spin?

I have noticed on every nv5600 I have seen, the shifter spins slowly in one direction. You cant grab it and spin it back or the same way and its not loose. It just does it a little at a time on its own. I need to fix this because I want to install a "T" handle shifter with a switch for my gearvendors. Does anyone know how?

Residual vibration causes it from what I've seen. I pulled the cap off, removed the nut that secures the **** to the shifter, and put the **** back on. Its threaded, so it can be tightened. Then I superglued the cap and pressed it back in place, haven't had a problem since. I switch back and forth from my stock **** to my homemade ram head ****, its a simple change now.

Yes, the little cap has a ridge around it keeping it in the **** it self, a screwdriver will get it out but be careful or you will cut and scratch the **** in the process. Once you get it off you'll see the nut in there, take it out then glue the cap around the edges and press it back in. After that you won't have to worry about removing the cap ever again and you can still get your **** off if you need to.

Yea the handle won't spin once you tighten it up, it was the cap doing all the moving.
