with my setup I run just distilled water no meth ( truck does not like it) and see a 250* drop in temps at wot. But the way I placed my nozzles is far from the intake horn. Rob

Tom:

Welcome to the website!

Like Rob, I also run water iinjection on my 1996 Dodge CTD 12 valve. I have been running water injection systems on that truck for about six (6) years now. I started with one of the first "Snow Water Injection Systems" and now have a pretty complex Scheid Water Injection System with a much bigger water pump and five nozzles going right into the cylinder head.

I see a drop of over 350 degrees with my system and like Rob I am running just distilled water with a anti-rust/water pump lubricant addditive to keep rust out of the cylinder head. I have had no problems with any of the systems I have run, I feel they are very well worth the money and although I did not see any H.P. increase I can run WOT without worrying. If you run some methanol, you will see an increase. I do not do that because the Dodge CTD 12 valve engines have "fixed or static" timing and I get alot of detonation on my truck because the timing is so high.

To help you out some more, here is link from this section (it is "STICKYED" at the top of the 3rd Gen High Perf and Acc Page) on water injection. Rob and I gave alot of information on our trucks in this thread with some pictures etc. It is pretty long, so get ready for some lengthy reading!

Hope this helps you some.

I run a Snow system on mine and its been trouble free for the past 4 years. You have to clean the injector screens about once a year. I run a mix of -20 windshield washer fluid and heet. It is a very noticeable gain when its turned on
