Was this on an American rear axle?

Thanks for the tool info, I have never torn into one of these yet so I will purchase this ahead of time.

The instructions tell you what you will need (Dynatrac anyway).........the spanner socket I purchased had been miss marked (thanks NAPA).......well worth getting if you get the correct one though.
