Walking the fine line
Walking the fine line
Just bought the 07 3500 CTD, I absolutly love it! I bought it specifically to pull a fifth (in the market to buy now) but still wish to mod it so the true potential of the CTD shines through. I guess I want a daily driver, capable still of pulling a fifth, but will smoke everyone!
My question is this, any Canadian's know where the fine line between moding your truck and losing your warranty? If I start replacing tranny's, tourque converters, upgrade intake manifold, chip, ect...where is the point when the dealership will tell me to Edit myself.

Depends on just how much modding you want to do. If the dealership finds any evidence of a chip they will probably try to void your warranty. But manufacturers of some of these mods warranty their own products...
Unless you go crazy you shouldn't have any problems. First you could add a muffler and then an intake .But let the truck break in a least before adding a module/chip. I had these and didn't have a dealer problem. If anything were to happen and need warranty it will usually happen during the 15-20K break in time.
