Walker Muffler, cross referenced same as Donaldson? Input please!
I've been calling around all day trying to track down a Nelson or Donaldson 51" muffler and the only thing I could find was a Walker 51", part # WX22936. The parts guy at the truck shop said the muffler cross references to the Nelson and the Donaldson....so its the same muffler just a different manufacturer.
Anyone have any input or experience with this muffler? Just under $70 as well, beats spending almost double the $$ for the Rokktech silent-might muffler...
We have 2 Cummins dealers here in Oklahoma and both told me they're just "engine related"...dont keep any muffler accessories...I was disappointed

If you are willing to order over the internet, then these guys have a large selection of mufflers; http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/
I just ordered and received the Donaldson M090544. Mine was $67+$12.50 shipping. Be advised that this muffler has the crimped baffle in it. Its rated flow is the same as the Nelson 51" straight muffler, around 1600cfm at 2" back pressure. I used a cutoff wheel to get rid of the baffle. Love the sound, or lack of. Quiet in the cab at cruising speed. But roll down the passenger window and go by a wall or over pass and get on it, sounds like a big rig.

Yea it was kinda pain in the A** to get the baffle out. I used an air cutoff wheel from Harbor Freight. I has a shield on one side which prevented it from bouncing around inside the muffler.
Do a search for the Donaldson muffler and you will see a few posts about the baffle. Some just pound it open with a 3" pipe.
I have not towed heavy with it yet, just 1800lbs or so. No drone at 65-70. I think it has less noise at cruise than the stock system..I did have ithe muffler mounted far foward as possible, about 10" more pipe added to the down pipe.

nwjetboat....you say you mounted as far forward as possible? and its still quiet? my areo is mounted almost right off my down-pipe and it is very loud. i thought the idea was to mount a muffler as far back as possible if you want it quiet? just want to clear up the info...
thanks guys for the input. i'll probably go pick up this muffler on monday...surely the baffle wont hurt performance if i leave it in there possibly?

RedRacer44:Every thing that I have read here at DTR and the TDR is that if you want to eliminate the drone, mount the muffler as far forward as possible. Most believe that the drone comes from the long section of pipe before the muffler. I believe a few have added extra pipe hangers with rubber isolators to attenuate the noise. At highway speed, the road noise is louder than the exhaust
