I am looking to add some performance upgrades to my 06 Megacab, but my question is how much horsepower will the stock tranny hold before I have to mod it also?

 

Well keep in mind you could smoke the tranny with no mods, from pulling alot of weight and driving it hard. So it is hard to say, Chip, Exshaust, and intake is kindoff considred safe. I look at trannies a little different though I replace them quickly because I have owned trucks with performance trannies in them and it is like night and day.

 

JD Dearden you're right. But in moderation I think about 65hp is max safe level. I will only run 60hp on my edge until I get a tc/vb.
