disconnect edge for service

I,m going to head the advice of a good source and disconnect the edge before I take my 05 in for service. I bought the truck with it already installed so I have no dummy plug. Is this plug actually a shorting plug or just a plug to keep the dirt out??? I,m hoping one of you guys know before I disconnect everything. And if it is a shortening plug where can I get one.

I assume that you are talking about the Edge Juice and the data link plug on the ECM. I am pretty sure it is just a dummy plug to keep out dirt/etc. Take it off and see if there are any codes when started, shouldn't be.

You can play dumb and say they probably forgot to put it back after the last time you had it in for service.
