Tuning 06 for max HP

The 06 in my sig is about done now, after sitting multiple times in the shop due to blowing a couple of head gaskets, head wasn't flat, its fixed now, we will see how it holds now.

We've got an MP8 now, along with a smarty, what settings should we use in the smarty, for max power? what setting on the mp8?

Anyone know how to set the wastegate on the mpi Twins?

Notes:
Seeing 60 lb boost
20k - 23k Rail pressure (without mp8)
launch at 23 lb boost
Nitrous still doesnt add power?!?!

Try SW 7 with timing 2 or 3, rail p. on mild or mod, trq mgt wild, mp-8 on 20-40 % or so, dial in the wastegate on the secondary charger so that at max boost the primary is making half of the total boost. See where that takes ya. Jay

You should have more than 60psi boost.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like you still have a headgasket problem....The nitrous is probably just lifting the head a bit more.

ya, but why is it only making 60 psi boost?? remember we are at 6700 feet elevation

ill hook up a gauge to the primary when the truck is up running... and go from there. BTW we are constantly having Wastegate problems, once the flapper broke off, next time its bent, causing it to stick open, causing hard spoolup...

BTW seeing 26,500 psi rail pressure with mp-8 at 50% at 100% it shows the same

depends on the wastegate, and the turbos. Do you have an external gate?? Or is it just the gate on the 62?

I'd ask Nathan for setup directions then follow what he says carefully.
A bad or severely mis adjusted wastegate could cause a low boost problem.

Easy does it until you figure out the problem!

The bottle isn't adding power? What size of a jet do you have in it ( in thousands of a inch, not horsepower size)? You sure the solenoid is opening? Sometimes if you an junk in the line, it will make the solenoid stick.

As for the Smarty and MP-8 tuning. Probably SW9, Timing 3 TNT, Pressure 2, TM 4. Try the MP-8 at 50% or so.

currently running a .125 jet. its a big kick in power just before turbos spool! at like 20 psi but at 60 psi it doesnt seem to add power!

running this kit ZEX

what cools egts more? more retarded timing? i think timing 4 is less advanced then timing 3 right?

are you running a Stainless housing on your 62 when i first got my stainless htt 64 it wouldnt make no more than 20lbs boost and i had to close up the waistgate to get it up to 45-48 where it is at now that might be your problem cause your s400 should make around 40 plus your 20 from secondary would be 60. just a thought though could be wrong

since we installed the mp-8 the truck rattles more then i like.

What i dont get is, why it does it, even with the mp8 off,
and on the smarty, we've tried timing 0 (default), which is 2 from what i understand, and timing 1 (stock) and 3 (big inj)

id appreciate any help on how to cure the rattling
