With the timing feature on the tst can you completely eliminate timing?

Change the timing only by adjusting the TST to 1x1 and the popping is there.
Do you get the popping with the BDDL on Tow? Dropping to Tow took mine away.

After reading this stuff yesterday at work, well I went driving around last night, playing around with it.

It pulls hardest on 6/1. 7/1 seemed ok too. 6/2 & 7/2 not much difference between the 6/1 & 7/1. 7/0 was sluggish, and then bam, not a smooth transition. It smokes more now than it did when I used to have it on 5/5.

6/1 I think is going to be my new daily driving setting

As for the popcorn, I set it on 9/1.....then it got the popcorn. 8/1 ever so slight, but on 9/1, its like a Ak-47.

But even on 6/1, if you are crusing, and nail it, it hesitates, and then its off. If you roll into it, then its smooth as the boost comes up and then it straight over to 50psi in a blink of an eye.

Now as for stacking, what stacks the best? I stacked it with the EZ, didn't see much of difference. Everyone says the Mp-8 is good match. I tried the TST with that free Bully Dog test tune, that was fun, but obviously not the right setting for stacking with the TST.

The top end on the TST is narly, but the bottom leaves me wanting more, and hopefully lessen the hesitation/stumble.

I haven't tried the Tow program yet, and it will be a week or so before I get a chance. I hope that cures it. I might see if I can get TST to send me a box with the adjsutable timing feature to test as well

Popping

I tried the tow and I still have it as bad as if on performance. I can run the TST Twins with the Diablo on performance though and the TST on 5/2 and get NO pop but anything higher and I get it.

Evidently the BDDL, CLDL and the PPE all have more timing as it is basically undriveable with those if you're getting after it.

I did do some testing this AM as my shop got their monitor updated and I drove down the highwyay with them on board reading the fuel pressure. OMG,.... was Don M right,.... imaginge that!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the FASS 150 and I had the PPE on extreme and the TST Twins on 3/1 and it popped it's a... off and they read the monitor and it didn't get below 21k when I was jumping on it and it never fell in the basement or any of that. That pretty much leaves timing,... at least on my truck. The TST is going out today for a reflash to allow me to adj the timing,.... . Yes!! If this doesn't work you'll all probably hear a gun shot.

The TST adjustable timing feature is excellent and gives basically total control over this function. In Auto mode you can set the limit of the ECM advance. The limit in Auto mode is 12 degrees. You can back this down to zero in three degree increments. A value selected over this (12 deg.) will have no effect.

There is also a manual mode that will adjust the 'static' timing. This is adjustable from 0-18 degrees.

I have not gotten the 'popping' noise, but I am not making the kind of power that many on this thread are. I get the stumble and I believe it to be caused by sudden rail pressure drop. This is according to TST. I would like to know more as well as on CL alone, I will NEVER get this. ??????????

BTW, my truck will run better on Performance as a baseline and a little TST twins; like 1X4+, Te/Power. This seems to be a darn good combo, for now.

Like others, I have not found rail pressure to be a good indicator, as least in evaluating these problems. I also have the adjustable timing feature.

Here is a question for the big electronic minds here:
The TST box actually connects to the timing harness and this function is then totally controlled by the TST box. The signal is buffered by the box. Would this not override other products that merely rely on the ECM, or become part of the ECM to do timing??? Think about it........... Perhaps I could state this better.

Has anyone watched a DRB while either of these events are happening? I have a solution that has all performance DRB related parameters that will record unlimited data if anyone is interested. Please PM me for info.

I just don't know. BTT and let Mark see this again

Chris
