Need help with diagnosis...

Here's the issue(s): Low on power, decrease in economy, and for some reason even when pulling hard I can't get EGT's up above 1100 or so? I've been reading about the injector knock issues, and I also think I've got some of that going on. Here's the question: could all this be related? The filters (air and fuel) are fresh, but when I changed the fuel filter I was poking around and actually felt the fuel lines going to the injectors while it was running. On two of them, I could actually feel it pulsing. Is that a bad thing? The other four had no "feel" to them at all. I've got one of those dealers that can never replicate the problem, i.e. "...it's normal, don't worry about it..." so can someone help me think this through? Thanks!!

On the "pulsing fuel line" I know the number one does that on all the common rail trucks I've played around with.

Not sure what the "firing order" is on this puppy, but the one I'm referring to is the furthest to the front. I'm guessing that's number one?

At any rate, I guess the real question is whether a knocking injector can/does cause power and economy decreases, or is it just annoying to listen to?

Toby, it could simply be lousy fuel. Gassers are more resistant to those kinds symptoms b/c they've got sparkplugs helping with combustion.

I can't help you about the pulsing fuel line. But I wouldn't worry to much about it. From J Body above, it sounds like its normal to me.
