The standard TST program comes on hard at 1600-1650 RPMS below that I don't think it adds a whole lot. I believe this is done for smoke control more then anything. TST does have a twins program that will fuel harder down low.

I tow very heavy and with the stock turbo the smarty would get the egt's way to hot. but I could run the smarty on 3 and the TST on 2/2 and the egt's would run much cooler.

I really like the smarty sled pulling because and the launch if you dropped to many RPM's it would keep on fueling to let you pull out.

Both are good products. TST is my favorite because of the EGT back down, easier to use when you tow,I get better mileage, And I just don't think you can beet its top end power/torque.

Right now I am not even using the smarty mainly because of the smoke. Every light I come to I would find myself babying the throttle because I didn't want to smoke everyone out. but the one thing the smarty can do that the tst can't is correct my speedometer.

I just ordered a Smarty S06 PoD from the DTR store. I didn't originally plan on spending that much, but I figure I might as well buy something I won't grow out of. All of the advice given has been invaluable. I decided to go with the Smarty because the ease of installation, tunability, and (based on the experiences you all have provided) exceptional low-end power. I have no doubt that the TST is a fantastic product and I wish I could get both. The Smarty simply seems to fit my preferences better. This will be my first major performance mod and I can't wait for it to get here. Thanks again for the thoughtful input.

I don't think you will be unhappy with it. If i wasn't working on modding my 99 i would have smarty for playing. Since you have gauges you have likely may the best value for the money choice.

 

You'll be glad you did the SMARTY!!! Lots of times I run with the TST off, just to be easy on my drive train...
