Smarty and gauges. It's just so cool to see gauge pods and the smarty is much more user friendly. Not to mention I like analog gauges because they seem to give quicker readings that don't bounce around a lot and to me that makes them more accurate.

BOTH!!! THat's what I run! But I would DEFINITELY and UNEQUIVOCALLY start with the Smarty & Gauges if that's all you can afford, an dthen add the TST later. I am loving my truck right now and I only run the TST on 1/0 for now!

I am the first to say that I think analog gauges are fine and I do like the looks of them.

BUT

Because they do not move around as much does not make them more accurate. The best analog gauge you can buy will do EGT measurement in 25 degree increments. Digital Gauges (ours for example) will measure egt in 1 degree increments. So naturally it is going to move around more.

Also the analog gauges have a mechanical limitation as to how fast it can actually sweep. On a digital gauge you do not have this loss of time due to mechanical limitations. We can show the data in 100% real time.

I promise you that analog gauges are not as fast and they certainly are not precision instruments. They work fine and there is nothing wrong with them but, I wanted to clarify some musunderstandings.

That's why I think both are best. I use the analog as my reference, but can use the TST if I want exact, real-time data.

I would go with the smarty it much easier to use. I had the new tst it was to picky you could barely turn it up before it started to cut out and throw codes.

My vote is: Smarty and Gauges

Smarty can read and clear codes. Different SW for different applications. Gauges a must anyway. (mine are going in this weekend)
