TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

Has anyone tried to fit the Interco TRXUS Mud Terrains on their rig? They have a 33x12.5x17" E rated tire that I am looking at, but it says a minimum 8.5" rim width is required. I am wondering if it will fit on the 8" stock rim. It doesn't seem like I would need a lift kit for these either, since they are smaller than the 315's that other people have been getting.

Here is a link to the website:

Any ideas or thoughts would be appriciated. Thanks in advance.

I looked at these for my jeep but never thought about putting them on my truck, I just wonder if they would wear out too fast because of the trucks weight. If someone knows otherwise I would like to have feedback on these tires also.

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

I had the same question myself........I have heard that they are very good under the Cummins, and they were recommended to me by 4wheelparts. These tires ARE 10 ply and E rated, so the weight of the Cummins shouldnt be a problem.

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

Lets bring some pics over!

Looks like a good tire. Not as noisy as some mud tires but not a BFG AT kind of sound. I like the sipes. I always watch people pull mud tires off when it's ice season up here. Those you should'nt have too.

Here is the AT version and man it is funky looking!

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

I just bought a set, and they arrived monday. Got them at 4wheel parts for a great price and free shipping. The six tires and a winch was 497 lbs, that alone saved me over $ 350.00. Wow what a deal. The Trxus tires look kind of neat, and I can let you know how they wear, but it will be awhile, these are my summer shoes. I went down to Nation Tire &Wheel, they were selling them way before most others even heard of them. They had a lot of good things to say about Trxus, And whole hartedly recomended them. They would have to be a he!! of a tire to out do my BFG mt's, time will tell.

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

Yeah, see i've heard nothing but good things about them. I just want to make sure they will fit on our stock rims. I would love being able to have a 10 ply E rated tire that has an agressive look to it. Hmmmm....maybe Interco could send a few of us some complementry sets to try out on our 3rd gen trucks. 8)

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

The 8" wheels will not be a problem. You would just run a little less air pressure to keep from wearing the center section of the tread prematurely. The only sizes in the 17" TrXus STS radials will be 35/12.50R/17 and 38/15.50R/17. They are yet to be released. The TrXus M/T is also available in 35/12.50R/17. The Superlift 4" lift is also in stock. My boss just had one installed on his 04 2500 4x4 SWB Quadcab. He is running the Cepek FC II 35/12.50R/17 on 17x8.5 Weld Andro which has 5.14" backside. Sweet! They do stick out past the fenders a little. I would love to do the same but it would require that I take the chainsaw to the garage door. :'(

Thanks for the info. I figured they would fit ok.

I still prefer the M/T's over the STS anyway. The 35's would be nice, but I don't want to have to put a lift kit on. My rig already doesn't fit in the garage, so that part doesn't bother me. I was looking at the TRXUS M/T RXM-13R (33/12.5R/17).

www.4wheelparts.com carries them in this size.

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

I too had noticed this tire in the 4x4 mags. Does anyone know how they wear on a truck as heavy as ours? I would be happy if I could get 30,000 out of a set.

Re:TRXUS Mud Terrain Tires

There is a contractor I work with that runs some on a Ford 150. His only comment about them was they are loud. This guy only runs mud tires and has had several sets, he is not real happy about the noise level but that is the only thing.
