pro-comp xtreme AT, BFG mud-terrain TA KM2, or intercor trxus MT for a daily driver?

I currently run the BFG AT KO h2 take offs in 315 70 17. They are pretty good in the rain and dry roads. they handel well and are quiet. however I'm not very impressed with how they handel the snow and they also dont come in a tall enough size. I'm looking for something around 38" on a 17" wheel. the pro-comp xtreme AT, BFG mud-terrain TA KM2, and intercor trxus MT all come in a size I like. I'm looking for opinions of how they handel on road in dry, rain, light snow, heavy snow, and ice. Also tire wear, noise and any other pros or cons you may have.
thanks.

I'll check again but I didnt think the toyo M/T's came in the size I wanted. But they might come in a 37/12.50x17? I might end up going down to a 37 because all the 38's are 14.5 or wider and I think thats going to really hurt snow performance. For the toyo's how were they in the rain? road noise? handeling? millage? and most important the snow stuff.

I had a set of the extreme at's. I got over 45k and they had tread left. I did have a problem with uneven wear. To be fair I was also changing my suspension setup at the time and driving a lot of miles. I don't like the directional aspect of them. When I did get around to rotating you can only go front to back same side unless you want to dismount. I will say that they were great in all weather conditions and not once did I have a flat.

Now that I have everything set including my Thuren Track bar, I purchased a new set of tires. I went with the new extreme mt's. I really like these tires. I have over 10k so far. Even wearing and based on the first 10k I would say they are at least a 40k tire.

Hope that helps, good luck.

Sounds like both tires have pretty good tread life. anything 40k and up is good for me I think. How did they each handel in the rain and in light slippery snow up to a inch or 2? Also what kind of noise did they make? the xtreme mt is an option if I decide to go down to a 37"

it will be close but only because of width. In my pictures theres 1 picture of my truck with what looks like really narrow knobby tires. They are the michilin 11x16 XL's there something like 38.7" tall. fit just fine never rubed at all.

well the intercor are out. sounds like about 90% of them dont balance or are out of round or other issues. I may choose a 37 because a 38-38.5 adds 2-3" of width and thats going to really hurt me in the snow. going down to a 37x12.50x17 though does open up a ton of options. Any suggestions?

I have a set of 35'' BFG KM2s also. I like the look and have had alot of compliments on them. They probably do as well and maybe better than most mud terrain tires on the street. Mine have been on about 10,000 miles now. I expect to get about 45,000 out of them.

That said, I will probably go to 315 BFG ATs next time just because I drive on the road so much.....and not that much off-road.

..

The extreme mt's are slightly louder than the at's. Both have done well in snow. Now last year we had a large blizzard here in Colorado. I was out in it the next morning running around in 2+ feet of snow with no problem. So far this year we haven't had that kind of snow to test the mt's out in. I have been in 4-5 inch stuff with no issues. On ice and rain I would say that the mt's might be a little more slippery, but overall I am still happier with the mt's.

I run the XAT's on my '96. Don't know about snow (we finally have some in the mountains), but they pulled my 11K trailer out of the soft sand at Glamis with 65lbs of air in them, in 2WD, and never broke loose. Very happy with them so far, I'll most likely put them on my new truck when I do the suspension.
