Truck Did Something Scary......Problem With XZT???

While driving home my truck did something scary. As I let off the throttle my truck seemed to have a stuck throttle, down shifted then upshifted, put truck in netural because I was coming to a stop sign then the tach went to almost 5000 rpm before I shut my truck off. Pulled to the side of the road restarted my truck in park tach went into the red and I think my tranny wasnt disengaged. It all happened kind of fast but i think my truck tried to move while it was in park. I unplugged the xzt and truck ran perfect. The xzt im using was stacked on my friends truck with a bully dog downloader and I think is pressure only. (Im new to the diesel world and not sure what needs to be done to the xzt to make it stackable) Any ideas what happened???

Do you have floor mats? I know that I had this happen to me once, I thought I had my TPS going out, was just a stuck floor mat under the petal. I know it sounds like a stupid answer but i am speaking from personal experience.

I checked that when I got home and I dont think that was it. I wasnt at full throttle when it happened which doesnt mean much. I do have aftermarket floormats.....Rhino I think, Hard plastic dish type......Well, I do need to have the box reflashed because this is the only chip im going to be running and it is pressure only. Hopefully it doesnt act up again. I would be really relieved if it was the floormats.

I also have a xzt I have noticed that if I am on the throttle and get out of it right away it feels like it still wants to keep pulling but it has never gone to full throttle and got stuck. Good to hear you were able to get it shut down before possibly hurting you or someone else

I had that problem in my old F-150. I don't know that it would be the case here because my old F-150 the TB needed to be cleaned because there was so much gunk around the cable. Only would happen when it was real cold

My buddy was with me when it had happened he said the cylinders might be flooded with fuel maybe the reason it just wants to keep pulling or maybe he has no idea what he is taking about

It does make sense, but even after I shut it off??? And as for the TPS, the truck has only 15000 miles on it and not sure much "gunk" could have built up.

I had an xzt that did the same to me. I had both feet on the brake trying not to hit the car in front of me, but wouldn't you know that 1200lb-ft of torque will push right past the brakes. Got it shut off and into the median about 6" from having the accident.

Anyway, I sent the xzt in twice to be reflashed but still wasn't right so they sent me a new one - even though I had bought it used - and never had a problem after that. Call and talk to Roark, they will take care of you.
