Transmission

Just was wondering what opinions you guys have on transmission upgrades. I have a 04 "600" with the auto transmission.

I am also running 37's and I notice excessive downshifting. Sometimes it seems like the converer unlocks and locks back up againg- creating a surging motion.
So I guess my question is, will an electronic controller help me, or converter, valve body-etc?

Also- and little, inexpensive minor horsepower products?
Thanks alot- Taylor Mishalanie

Might try reading a little bit here or give them a call. I hear they are very helpful.

If you just want to improve shifting and put more power to the ground then you could just replace your Valve Body and Torque Converter. If you want to bomb your truck with maximum power upgrades in mind, you may want to get a fully built tranny.

I have no affiliation with DTT, but I have never heard a negative word about them. ATS and Goerends also have great trannies from what I have read on here. Good luck.

I had some surging and bad shifting until I did my tranny. Now that I have a good converter and internals it actually puts what power my engine is making to the ground. All my issues went away and it drives like a dream. Everyone that rides in my truck is astounded at the difference. I even had a hardcore chevy man compliment me............

Brad you need to come to some local gatherings with the North Texas/Waco group. There is a Dyno Day coming up on April 1st at Emory. That can't be to far from you.

We usually get together once a month or so. I'd love to see your truck and go for a ride with that BUILT tranny.
