Trans temp Gage

Can I put a transmission temp gauge on a 06 six speed I feel dumb for asking I have only seen them on autos

I have seen several people drill and tap the PTO covers, or weld a bung on the PTO covers.

Don't really think I need one enough to do all that what would be a good third gauge to get I'm getting boost and egt not sure on the third
