tranny shifting funny with triple dog low end power?

i just switched over to the low end power option on with my triple dog and finally i am feeling the power i think i paid for, however at part throttle i get a weird really fast lockup/unlock feeling when the tranny shifts into second. also i cant tell if the tranny is slipping or im paranoid. its set on performance and when i get on it, the rpms go up to about 2200 and stay there as the truck accelerates, then begins to climb. i know thats not really clear, just seems as though it revs higher while im gettin up to speed than when i didnt have the low power option. weirdness

I had the exact same problem. I just switched back to the standard Crazy Larry with low end power off, and it seems to have cleared up. Also, the tranny shifting seemed to get worse the longer I ran the low end power. It was alomost like it would go from 1st to 3rd with just a hesitation/slip for 2nd.

I only test drove mine a few times with the low end power enabled. I figured my tranny would be gone in no time at all using it. It seems to only make the throttle much more sensitive to me. You can also forget about feathering it at all when traction is an issue. Kinda like 1/2 throttle = normal full throttle, but past 1/2 throttle it doesn't seem to pull any harder at all. It acts like the old Mopars when you left the kickdown linkage off. You could waste a tranny in no time because the line pressure wasn't being increased to match the throttle position.

I had that feeling the whole time I had the triple dog on my truck, hence no more triple dog

yea i don't use it. it does nothing but mess with line pressure and excess fueling too soon...making the tranny shift bad.

it does make all the power come on within the first half of the of throttle push....not comfortable and a very goofy tune.

My truck is going back to the dealer on Tuesday. The second gear band is loosing up and slipping. If you really want to check it. Find a hill and come to a complete stop. Power up the hill slowly so The tranny doesn't jump from first to third quickly passing over 2nd. Once you get second the tranny will slip heavily. My dealer told me its a common problem and fixed/adjusted the bands about 3 weeks ago. But seems like these boxes can loosen it up right away if they only did a Fix it good enough to go. Not a fix it so its right.

Hey Mork turn you Juice down to 0 and check it. Seems like the attitude can make it drive fine. I only see this issue in the stock setting. So you may want to have it looked at

When i first downloaded the low end power mod into my 03 i thought it said for sled pull use, maybe thats why u dont feel any more gain in the top end u only get power from 700 to 2000 rpm, to get a good launch with the sled behind ya.

Is the 48RE band adjustment done in the same manner as the old TF727? If so it is easily done with an inch pound torque wrench from the outside of the trans.

I tried the low end power for a trip to Des Moines and back, about 300 mi. It definetly made passing on the interstate easier due to fueling very early. Pedal was touchy, but power flattened out after about 1/2 throttle. Got home and took it off due to tranny life concerns.
