Question Track question?

Hey guys i am going out to the quarter mile tomorrow and i am thinkin about running my truck. If i do i want to do it in four wheel drive to get the best time so my question is if yall think i would probably break something in the tranny or anything? I have the VB and TC and have heard that it helps but i just want to do a couple runs to see what it will run like and any feed back on your opinion if i should or should not race it would be great!

Thanks

with those big tires and wheels, becareful launching. I bet you can do a mild boosted launch, but dont get to crazy w/o a flexplate and billet shafts. have fun and be sure to post some times. if you ever want to try a real programmer, let me know and ill let you borrow mine

just be careful on the launch, like he said, with those big tires you could do some damage. go easy off the launch and then floor it!! you shouldnt burn up your tranny in just a couple of runs, i ran my stock trans with my crazy larry tune a few times and i was still good, but i have stock size wheels and tires. let us now how it turns out!

I have done boosted launchs about 10 times W/out any problems yet. But im running 295's not 37's on 20's.

When you say you have a TC and VB which ones do you have? My Suncoast stuff seem to work well.

I run 37's and I have done my share of 4x4 20psi boosted launches. My HTS tranny has always got the job done. At the track I like a 4x4 10-12psi launch. What kind TC and VB are you running? Good luck at track.

I have an ATS VB and a Precision TC. Traded for my old wheels and tires from my old 250 for the TC and VB from a friend of mine that owns a local diesel shop here in Houston.

I ran at the track about 40 times with 35" tires and 15psi launches, my tranny lasted from brand new to 9K miles when it was stock. With a tq conerter and valve body your putting alot of stress on the other stock parts. I would stay around 15PSI or youll be risking your shafts. Just get it fully built so you can enjoy loosing traction in 4wd with a 40PSI launch!
