1/4 track question
Im going to the track tomorrow night and was wondering if it was ok to run in 4 wheel drive? I've practice my launches on the street with it in 4 wheel high and brake torqued to about 1700 rpms and man it launches hard, but Im worried about running 95 mph plus in 4 wheel drive. If I reach down and shift out while going down the track will it still be in 4 wheel high. The reason why I ask is because when practicing the light does go out until I let off the gas even though I shifted out a while ago

Yes you can run the whole length of the track with it in 4wd.
However I would, pop the lever into 2wd after your into 2nd gear. You can "feel" a difference when doin that vs running the whole way fully engaged.
Better yet why not do one run each way and "Feel" it for yourself?
Something else I should mention, do not go by RPM's when building boost at the line. Watch your boost gauge, and unless you have a billet outputshaft keep it under 20psi on the launch or you'll here a "pop" and you won't be going anywhere because your outputshaft just cried "uncle".
Good luck.

Whats your best 1/4 time?

Haven't been to the track much this year except when my outputshaft cried "uncle" and one other time. I ran 13.5x (would have to look for slip) at Scribner (crappy Nebraska 1/4 mile) this year, but thats with way too much injector and not enough turbo : my "best" I gues s is one of the many 13.4x I ran at KCIR in 2002.
With your setup and a good launch you should be 13.6 to 13.8 I would imagine. 97 to 98mph.
I've been havin more fun on the street then at the track lately.

Re:1/4 track question
Too many of the other diesels around here know my truck and wont run me anymore. I thought I'd go to the track and surprise a bunch of the "Fast and Furious" crowd. Thanks for the info I definatley don't want to hear anything scream uncle.
