I tow a 4K lbs boat with mine. No problems at all. I would imagine it has a lot to do with what other mods you have though. It's a big turbo that likey the fuel. Wastegated properly will also help it when towing.

I have pulled skid loaders (large sized probably 7000-9000lb) 5000lb boat loads of 3x3 hay/straw bales, etc.

The boat is the only thing I have pulled over 100miles all my other loads are usually local within 50 miles, but I think it works great. I have Flux 4s so I keep my box on a lower setting usually but have towed turned all the way up. and it works fine up there as well, just watching EGTs a little closer. overall I usually run a little higher in rpm before shifting and in general

Thanks guys!
blackmoke,
Does the Silver bullet keep your egts in check? How hot do ya get when you have the box up and your not towing? That's my big concern with the Silver 62 my truck still get real hot.
Thanks,
Topper

my only prob while towing is spooling the turbo and keeping the speeds safe. if i spool it it cools off but if i dont it will hit 1100 which is still low

Having a 6spd and 4.10s will help a lot, and elevation will effect you too.
Its not a silver bullet but I have towed well over 20k with my sps 66 and I just run my smarty on beta 4.4 on sw 3 or 5 and every now and then I may put the tst on 1/0 but I have towed from South FL to Tn, Ga to Tx and everywhere in between and have really had no issues with egts or surging.

Now that I went from a 34" tire to 35s, I can tell a slight differance but still, no issues.

I've towed cars, trucks, boats etc with no problems. I have noticed a big difference in power at higher elevations.

Mine surges if in towing up a hill in 6th on a hot day. I have to drop in into 5th because it starts to get cooking on a long grade's and the surge also sux if your below 2300 rpm.

Doesnt bother me much since its the price you pay for performance and I dont tow much.
