I've seen it and been to the dyno with one truck. It needs alot of fuel to be happy. It is a daily driver for the heavy foot type. It spools about the same as a sps66 maybe a tad slower. It is for autos only or sledpulling or drag racing with a 6speed. With an agressive fueling box set to kill it will outperform anything short of a very good set of twins. It retails for around 2400 and is in short supply....if you want one get it ordered now if you want it in 2 weeks not the it will be out next month short supply. The truck I saw dynoed 632 on fuel only no box or nitrous. It was smokey till about 350hp then cleaned up nicely. When it lights it is like afterburners are on. Add nitrous and it clears up instantaneously and goes like stink. You can tow with it but think car trailer or boat not 5 cord of wood from a grunt. I'd buy one in a second if I had the money.
Like the SPS66 it fits into stock space and bolts up. ks

I talked to II last week about the turbo. First I asked if I would benefit with it over the 66 I have and he asked if I towed and I said no. He said that would be the only major benefit. He said ya its a great turbo and he would love to sell me one but if I already have the 66 and I have no problems surging he wouldn't consider switching unless I just have money to burn(which I don't) LOL

I was VERY pleased with the honesty from II.

Next I asked if I decided to get one right now how long would it be and he said he could ship one out in a week. But that changes from day to day...

Its a beauty tho. Id love to put one on.

I talked to II a few days ago and was told that the silver bullet would spool a bit faster than the sps66 and be less prone to surge and bark than the sps66. He said if you have an sps66 it would be about a grand to upgrade it to a silver bullet or half that to take it to a sps62 (a good towing turbo).

The silver bullet typically has a 68mm compressor wheel and a turbine wheel that is close to the same size but different from the one that the SPS66 has. (secrets!)

I am VERY happy with mine. I am running just a MP8 box with stock injectors, and I cant tell of any lag whatsoever. The only downside for me was the noise. On the highway at 70 mph, it would whine like no other. I put a TAG on it, and it quieted it down a lot. When I get some serious fuel(when Don M releases his injectors for the 04.5+) and I save some serious cash, I am going to get a set of twins made with the Silver Bullet as the primary turbo.

hope this helps

The Silver Bullet will spool up faster than the SPS66, and yes as stated earlier, the difference is in the exhaust side. A SPS66 can be converted to a Silver Bullet.

Syndicate...you need more fuel for it!

abc4yew...have you compared it to an Aurora 5000 before you made that conculsion?

To answer the question about silver bullets and manuals.
What (I think) Industrial Injection has said is that the SB will spool easier with an auto. That doesnt mean it is for autos only.
Quite the contrary; It will flow more than a regular SPS66 and is supposed to spool faster also.
Since the turbine side is improved they are saying they have better results with it on an auto than the sps66.

Both are great turbos its just one is bigger than the other....

Spooling is all relative, anyway.

Some people's definition of spool means from 0psi and up. Other's (like the guys at II) talk about spool from 12psi and up.

The SPS66 is pretty laggy until 12psi or so (even with the TST twins program), but then it rips to 55psi once it lights.

Where is the Silver Bullet quicker/more responsive? 0psi to 12psi, or in spooling when it lights?

JCLeary is absolutely correct. I'm waiting for someone to say the SPS66 and silver bullet spool faster than stock. I've seen trucks with similar fueling and the SPS66 is faster to 20psi than the Silver Bullet I've seen. From about 15 psi to 60psi the Silver Bullet is faster. If you have agressive fueling down low it is not an issue. If you drive a manual and can keep the boost above 15psi... yep its a great turbo. If you want to drive the turbo with a standard around town lugging at 1500rpm....you aren't gonna be happy. It seemed to me that from idle on the dyno the sledpuller was laggier than the silver bullet. It would be strange for a 68mm compressor to spool faster than a 66mm from idle.
I'm putting on a wastegated K31 (which is close to a non wastegated Aurora 5000) so I'll shut up on this one till I have my own turbo whining properly. ks

It seems to me having a lil lag is fun, Its just like putting a 100 plate in a 12valve right? I personally think lag makes it fun to drive (yes it gets old when you not tryin to hot rod around)
