Torque Tube Group Project ?
I want a Torque Tube to finish up my Air Induction System. I found the picture below in the 1st Gen. Section. Looks nice to me.
I have access to a piece of SS 4" tubing and I have a few clamps, but the ones in the picture really look a little heavier duty than mine. Anyway, I see getting a couple of 90* El's and having a torque tube to finish my sytem up.
Anyone have access to the 90* El's? We need a Hi-Temp Rubber El that I'm sure someone has access too. We could have a group project here. Thanks for any help, Jim

Above is a picture of my AFE Air Intake
Looks like I found a post with a reference from MikeyB to
www.shop.airflowonline.com
I have the same setup as the first gen picture you have posted. You can get the high temp rubber elbows at a truck supply store such as Truck Pro, I used 4" exhaust pipe for the intake piping which I picked up at Truck Pro along with the intake boot clamps.
Mine is done up the same way except I used aluminum tubing, so my truck is faster than Monty's.
I got all the stuff from Airflow Systems.

We dont allow any kind of promotion on group purchases here, because we have no control over the out come. If anything went wrong and some one did not receive what they paid for, or were in any way unsatisfied with the deal, we would end up taking the brunt of the blame for it.
With that in mind, lets not try and start a group buy on anything in the forums.
Thanks

Thanks guys, looks like for about $40 I'm going to get to finish my system up. I just ordered the parts I listed above from Airflow Systems plus a flange for the new SS Exhaust I'm going to bend up for it all for $49 delivered. Thanks, Jim

The Airflow Systems parts came in today. They are even nicer than I expected.
It looks like it will be a day or so before the weather gets back to where I can work on it. I still have to get the tubing measured and cut to length. I think this is going to be a good easy project.
Yes, I'll take pictures as I do it and post them for ya. Jim

Prosouth are you doing these for the 3rd Gens? How are you going to bend the pipe (assuming you're doing 90-degree bends). Do you have a mandrel bender? I was looking around for nice prebent 90-degree elbows.
One guy on nwbombers.com made up his own Torque Tube style intake using exhaust pieces with the 90-deg elbow already. Got it ceramic coated and looks better than Torque Tube. Looks awesome. Man did it have a wicked turbo whistle, sounded sweet

No, I've had to put a few things on hold. Like this and my Enclosed Trailer and a few other things until I get my job situation straightened out. They announced our plant is going to Mexico. I am using most of my time trying to put together a business plan to go to.
I have a friend that is a major supplier of SS tubings. I will see what he can come up with and if not a mandrel bent tube I will use both of my 90* Els and a straight section of SS pipe. Jim

Just touching base on this one, was thinking about doing the same thing myself.
PROSOUTH: had a chance to make any progress with the tube yet? It sounds like it should turn out pretty nice. I was looking at mine today and i think i can get 2 of the 90' elbows and about 12 inches of pipe and that should do it.
Ill try to poast some pics when i get the stuff in and installed. Think im going to stick with the stock box and Paper airfilter for now since it seems to be a sure fire way to void the warranty otherwise.
Anyone else with pics of home spun tubes or intakes how about posting them...
