I have had both Craftsman and now Mac, I shopped and messed with Snap-on boxes. I was just very pleased with the quality of the casters, finish and how smooth the drawers rolled in and out. The locking mech. is awesome as well. For the amount of money that has to be spent on the box itself, it would be worth it for you to go and look at each one individually. We have had our Mac box for over 4 years now and never had a single issue with it. I would definitely buy MAC again if I needed a bigger box or another one.
I'll take a look at the MAC boxes. From memory I think the MAC's are priced slightly lower than Snap-On but claim the same quality?
Well I looked at some MAC boxes last night and was very impressed. I've always liked the look of them and after seeing them in person I like them even better. I also like the way they lock into places when closed. Without a mechanism under the handle that you have to press etc. its really clean.
Doing some research I found these:

They told me they make boxes for Snap-On.
They also have some really trick drawer "divider" systems that would suit my purporse well.
Any opinions on Lista?

its the little things that you dont relize when using other tools Im a field service tech for detroit diesel in oregon and can say that the snap-on tools are the best I will and do buy from all three trucks that come to our shop but the snap-on tools get used the most things like there standard wrenches longer than anyone else more leverage less wear and tear on the body when I started out it was craftsman all the way Im lucky I run my own truck so I get a rolling tool box that goes where I go actually had to get the truck re registered for more weight anywat snap-on is very proud of there of there boxes I look at it like this as long as they have to make a hell of a racket to break in to steal my tools Itll give me enough time to pump the 12 guage and save them check out the heavy duty road chest its been the back of my trucks for the 10 years Ive been wrenching paint looks ok and it holds a ton of tools thats my .02
honestly I dont understand buyin snap on or mac.... craftsmen still has a lifetime waranty just the same.. and 1/2 or 1/3 the cost, to me I just wouldnt pay that much extra for it to say Snap on in fancy print or be shiny. Just my .02
I think it comes down to WHAT product you're buying.
Wrenches etc. Craftsman is fine. I own Craftsman toolboxes and although they're nice they are nothing like Snap on and Mac. If they were only going to live in my garage they would be fine, but going in and out of trailer I think I need something sturdier.
Well I've done some more research on Lista boxes.
They are very nice and exceed Snap On specs on many areas.
For example Snap On boxes have a 250 lb per drawer weight rating.
List is over 400 lbs.
Lista also has a very nice, fully customizable drawer orginization system which really appeals to me.
They are used by many race teams in Formula 1, DEI, etc. etc. You can order a standard box or get something completely custom for the same or less than SnapOn.
I think I'm gonna give these a try.
