Re:help find timing tools
just loosen your pump up and push it towards the head. if you look at the side of your pump you will see a witness mark, as in a line on the cover and a line on the pump housing. raise the pump up a 16th of a inch or a bit more. yea, real lotech but it works. but the lower bolt on the foward part of the pump can be a pain to get to. mike

Corey, welcome to the site.
Here is a thread that should help you when advancing your timing. As gunracer said, the bottom bolt is a pain to get too. I took a 13mm wrench and bent it into the shape of a "C", this worked fine. However, Piers sells the C shaped tool if you want to go that route. The stock timing mark on your pump flange and the gear housing should be 1.35mm for a non intercooled truck. 1/16" will give you 1.4-1.45mm advance. Whereas 1/8" over the stock mark on an intercooled truck will give you the same.
The above mentioned is the quick way to do it. If you are looking for a more precise measurement, Snap-On or Miller Tools sells the dial gauge and adapter that is needed to screw into the back of the pump.
