thuren trac bar??s

well i just recently purchased a thuren trac bar looks like a nice solid trac bar but my question is that i have the relocation drop bracket from pro comp and i was wondering if i should run that with dons trac bar or run his trac bar in the stock location if it will fit, i was looking and i think its going to not be able to go up that high without doing some grinding on the bracket that is above the bottom end (passanger side) of the trac bar....wish i woulda went with a good lift from the start...as for another question..could i go with a 3 inch lift coil and a revtec leveling kit spacer and still run the pro comp control arms?

Don's trac bar will center the axle without having to use a drop bracket but you need the bracket. It keeps your tracbar and drag link (connected to the pitman arm) parallel. If they are not, you will get bumpsteer and the truck will wander all over.
Yes you could run a 3" coil with a 2" spacer and run the pro comp arms. But why?

You still need to run the drop bracket if you are running the 5” kit, otherwise you with have a tremendous amount of bump steer. If you are going to keep the 5” kit I would highly recommend welding the drop bracket. Also you will need to grind a little on the trackbar where it mounts in the drop bracket. Good luck.

alright well it fits in the trac bar drop bracket just fine its on the bottom end that i can not get it to fit...the bend in the trac bar just hits the bracket the coil sping sits on so i cant get the right angle to get the top side to align, i was wondering if i have to grind 1/4 of inch of that curved piece that is right above the bottom end up the trac bar..i need help asap as i have to get back to work and thats a 10hr drive from where i live.

anyone? i need help asap did anyone have to grind above the trac bar on the bottom side(passanger side) it just seems to thick of a bar and hits the top im thinking of just grinding that off about 1/4 of an inch so the trac bar wont hit but from what i read no one else has to grind and they just slide right in

Well, you never know when you combine components from different lifts. Didn't your Pro Comp lift come with a crossover steering and track bar?

yea but i think i figured it out...my procomp trac bar goes with the heim joint on the top side and now the thuren trac bar goes with the heim joint goes on the bottom side....i believe it seems to fit very good that way, a very stupid mistake on my part

Yes the heim mounts on the axle NOT the frame. I am using the procomp drop bracket on my truck and had to clearence the track bar bushing that mounts on the frame. Hope this helps.

Don't feel bad, the local 4x4 shop did the same thing to my truck. They called me in the shop and told me I bought the wrong part.

well i got it all bolted up and it seems to have helped quiet abit no i just have to fix a worn tie rod and then my steering will hopefully be good again for another 6 months. but after feeling good about the install i was once again not so happy as i think i may have a leaky injector and havent been working enough lately to buy some aftermarkets, might have to park that truck for a bit and go with the trusty old 12ver
