Thumbs up for SDX and Source Automotive!!

To make a long story short, I was on the way home from the TX Diesel Nats a month ago and evidently an injector cracked...... I didn't know anything had gone wrong until a few hours of interstate driving later when the turbo screamed and went out. The cracked injector had pumped so much fuel into the crankcase that it was coming out the blowby tube and coating the underside and left side of my truck with fuel/oil. When I drained it, over 5 gallons of black fuel came out instead of oil. Thinking back, it did have a very quick, mild stumble, but at the time I didn't even think about it. **Lesson learned** if anything fuel related like that happens to your CR, then please check the oil for a while to see if it's "making oil".

Anyway, SDX (Southern Diesel Extreme) is only about 15 miles from me, so they helped me get back on the road. I decided to go bigger on injectors and turbos since I had to replace them anyway. At the time, common rail injectors were on national backorder! However, Chris and Jamie at SDX called around for a day and a half and I'm pretty sure they found the last set in the country..... New Bosch stainless body injectors. Pricey - but I really wanted/needed my truck back on the road. They also hooked me up with 90 hp nozzles (40% over).

For the air side, Rip at Source automotive was excellent to deal with. I ended up going with a set of s300/s400 twins. I bought the complete kit and was extremely happy with the fit and finish. The instructions were very complete and easy to follow. Every single nut, bolt, clamp, etc was included in the kit.

Since the kit came with a 5" dp, I also switched to 5" exhaust. Instead of having to buy a whole kit, the guys at SDX sold me just the over-the-axle piece so I could make my own exhaust (much cheaper).

I got it running yesterday and I absolutely love the way it drives. I don't even turn my Adrenaline on anymore! With the box off, it has almost no black smoke, but the pull is amazing. It is so much quieter than before (straight 4" with factory turbo) and the tone is much deeper.

I'll try to get some pics of the twins later. For now, I just wanted to let everyone know that Source and SDX are awesome to do business with. Excellent customer service and high-quality products are the reason for their success.

Pics coming soon.....
