Those who have Banks hi-ram intake
I just installed the banks intercooler kit and per the instructions it states to add a ground wire from the intake heater core to the manifold. Does anyone know why this needs to be done?
I just put it on. Others here says you wont feel any difference, as for me it came with the intercooler kit so I put it on. I haven't felt any difference, but it sure makes your truck look like it will go fast.
Does the kit come with two rectangular gaskets to replace the gaskets on both sides of the heater grid? There are two versions of these gaskets. One set (old version) are made from a typical fiber gasket material and are red while the new set are a metallic version and are silver. The new versions will pass current and will ground the heater grid to the motor without a wire, but the old version will not. Maybe they are supplying the old gasket version on a setup meant for the new version (i.e. it doesn't have a ground wire already). My heater grid has a wire on it, but I don't think the new ones do. Just a guess....
