The tranny makes a huge difference. Just by SOTP feel, I'm guessing when I did my tranny (all I had was Hot Juice) I picked up close to a second in the 1/4. The tighter TC is a big help in getting all that power to the ground.

Sure...I'll tell you you're CRAZY!!

Honestly, I just don't see the sense in tearing up a nice '07 truck just to say you ran a 12.99 once. Let me ask you, do you really have a 12 second truck if your truck will never run 12's again?

Don't forget - nitrous doesn't raise peak cylinder pressure or temperature (the nitrogen acts as a buffer for the combustion process and actually lowers both), but it does fatten the area under the cylinder pressure vs. piston position curve quite a bit.

More push, less hit.

Of course, the phenomenom is more pronounced on a gasser.

I think you already know the answer to this question

Spend your money upgrading, NOT repairing

All of you have great points here but how many people can say they have the limited amount of mods I do and ran a 12.99 or better. Who knows the truck may not like it all all and I end up with a broke truck. Lots of people said my 13.422 was insane with the bare mods I have. I know its not the best idea to do this as im doing it backwards from what I should I just think that these trucks have alot more in them then what people think and I want to find the limits. I know im playing with gasoline the way my truck is now and the nitrous may just be taht match that blows it up. I think the raised cylinder pressures would be the thing that gets me as the head gasket probably wont take much more.
TritonT the trans. alone makes a big difference I have seen trucks pic up nearly half a second in the quarter with a built trans. alone. And as far as I know that ts 03 white qc 4wd had 2 stages of nitrous on it for its high-mid 12 pass a year or so back dont keep up with it too much now but that was all in an article in diesel power.
If I do decide to go with some nitrous what kit should I go with Im thinking of going with a single progressive stage for now.

I agree. It's pretty impressive, and I think everyone else will agree too. But what we're trying to make sure you realize is that by doing it the way you are, you are destroying a perfectly good truck and costing yourself more money in the long run to have a quick AND reliable truck.
