Taking out the stock Radio

How hard is it to take out the stock radio.

I bought this adapter that plugs into the cd-changer controller for the stock radio, so that I can plug any pre amp device into it...like my MP3 player.

Hey there. There is a phillips head screw, by the little hook for a small garbage or whatever a little to the right of center on the dash. Once that is out you open the glovebox and ashtray. The large piece in the middle(including heater controls and vents) is then just held by clips, a light tug on the corners will get it out. Then the are 4 phillips head screws around the cd player. Once those are out it slides out easy. It only takes a couple of minutes, I just made this long trying to explain the pieces. Hope this helps.

I'm sure there are some nice fellas in Compton who could teach you how to get it out in less than a minute.

With a phillips screwdriver, all it takes is about a minute. It is one of the simplest head units to remove. The instructions above are perfect. I replaced the factory stereo the second day I had my truck.

Like the others said it is simple. Make sure you get the antenna adapter or you won't be able to hook up a new radio.

DANG!! that was easy!!!

one screw and the rest were those clippy things. That took me about 15 minutes for the whole job. That includes fishing the RCA Cables down to the ash tray.

Pretty good for a guy who don't know what he's doing

thanks for the help
