stock injector or higher hp?
stock injector or higher hp?
Needing new injectors soon in my 05 cummins 3500. Im looking to do a moderate build on my truck this spring. Wondering how much an over hp injector would help and the difference in prices or where i can find a place to look. Any help would be great. And if i were to say i ran a 150hp injector what would i need to run with it to keep it running correct
Thanks.
Thanks.

Look into F1 Diesel. Probably going to be the best deal. Don completely disassembles the bodies and inspects and replaces the needed parts and adds his nozzles. 150's you will need at least a Fass or AirDog pump and at minimum an Arson III kit for your CP3. After that you better start looking to upgrade your trans components. Oh yeah, more air (bigger charger) or you'll be burning up pistons if you load it up......see how slippery this slope can be???
Way too much money and work to support 150hp stix properly.
You are going about the question wrong though.
What you want to do is figure out what your HP goals are (and realistic fuel mileage -- bigger stix will lead to lower mileage) and what you want to do with your truck and then go from there. Just pulling out an arbitrary injector size and going from there will lead to:
A. Disappointment in the choice
B. A lot more $$ in supporting mods than you ever dreamed of spending so you don't---
C. Melt down an engine through not knowing better.

So i wouldnt see going more than 40hp injectors. Id like to be at 500 hp. Give or take. All stock now besides a straight 4 in exhaust. Come spring ill be running a smarty jr and an intake. So with all said will the smarty hold enough to make a 40hp work? Then i wouldnt hVe to touch a fuel pump just yet?

Stock LP should support 40hp injectors just fine. You won't have to deal with upgrading your charger either. Mr. Zoo knows his stuff in this dept. so take his advise and listen to what he has to say......he'll lead you in the right direction!!!

Do what is recommended above. You can get by with stock stixs for HP in the 500-600 range. Flux 1's would work fine and you may gain a little MPG from them.
