SpynTec free spin hub pics.
I just recently got done putting this SolidAxle SpynTec Kit on and lots of people wanted to see how far the hubs stick out. Steers better, less vibrations, and hopefully better MPG's though I doubt it. Gonna press some new U-joints into the front driveshaft this weekend and get that put back in.
The big advantage to this kit is I can rebuild these hubs both for under $60 as opposed to $400 for a single stock unit bearing. Plus there is less wear and tear on the driveshaft and axle end U-joints since they no longer spin. The new 2wd LOW gear will be nice if I have to back up a trailer as well. :SPIN:

The kit is extremely well put together. The directions have a few little holes in them though. If you've ever done bearings on 4wd hubs, its absolutely easy just from past experience. I had never done them, my brother had and he helped me through it. I just love how easy it is to rebuild these things. I could do both sides in under an hour if the tires are already off.

I was told about every 30K miles by a couple of people but others have said about 50K. I believe it depends a lot on your driving conditions. Out here in NM I don't get into much water and don't drive to a lake and dunk them so I probably can get by with a longer duration. I'm figuring to take a look at them at around that 30K mark, re-pack them then and the next time will have a better idea of a realistic interval. I have the EMS kit but like it a lot better than the original junk.
Had my dynatraks apart to do ball joints after a good 30k and went to re-pack bearings and they looked great, grease wasn't even black yet. Like said above though its so easy to check may as well take a look 30-50k and check the inner hub seal also...
those pics don't make it look like the hubs stick out very far with those schweet rims, mine stick out a little past stock wheels.
you definetly want to lock the hubs and spin the diff every once in a while. I leave mine locked a lot in the winter and try to lock them in once a month or so during the summer. I think the u-joints can soak up more water when they are not spinning....
