You could engage 4x4 (while stopped) every once in a while then drive around to spin the front end if you're worried about dry u-joints.

Also better hope that the wife remembers to lock the hubs and doesn't happen to twist that little **** to 4x4 High like she's used to doing while rolling down the road. I imagine that the electric transfer case engagement is much less forgiving than the manual lever that gives instant feedback if the hubs aren't locked.

I actually throw mine in 4-lo sometimes without the hubs locked in for low gearing in 2wd when backing trailers around in tight spaces. Never seems to be a problem going that slow but i've always wondered what would happen in 4hi without the hubs locked in. Wouldn't the drive shaft, fron diff and axle shafts just spin without putting power the wheels. If I grab the front driveshaft and just spin it by hand nothing bad happens, axle shafts just spin. Not sure how you would get feedback in t-case if hubs aren't locked?

I´ve tried to reach Solid Axels for a while, both by mail, phone and through the onlineshop, but cant get a hold of them. Where did you purchase your kit?

I called Solid Axle almost a year ago to order mine. They said their latest run had just sold out. But then the girl said she new where I could get them, after looking through the order slips, she found that KLMperformance had bought a good portion of the kits. So I called those guys up and ordered a lot more than just the hubs, I also got Carli ball joints and a few other things. I don't remember the exact cost of the hubs, but I didn't pay what their asking now. I just checked their website and it says almost $2000. Also says they are out of stock.

Looks like they would stick out a lot on stock wheels.

The big advantage to this kit is I can rebuild these hubs both for under $60 as opposed to $400 for a single stock unit bearing. Plus there is less wear and tear on the driveshaft and axle end U-joints since they no longer spin. The new 2wd LOW gear will be nice if I have to back up a trailer as well. :SPIN:

not as pretty as my EMS hubs...yours look great!

Product development anyone?

A cheaper compromise might be a greasable unit bearing.

I don't think that is an option.

You can grease it, but once the bearing is bad, its bad and can't be rebuilt. But your right, it should have a grease fitting somewhere.

I reused the front u-joints in mine when I put the free-spin hubs up front. Hind site, I wish I would have replaced them with serviceable units
